The mission of NewVote is to break down the barriers that impede everyday citizens from directly engaging in political discourse, idea formation and decision making by providing a digital platform that invites, encourages and inspires citizens from across the nation to pool their collective knowledge, skills, wisdom and insights to engage, contribute to and shape the future of the world.
The ownership of all data and information collected on NewVote, whether generated explicitly or implicitly, remains with you, the individual and creator.
NewVote retains the right to use your data, and aggregations of user data, for the following purposes:
Making NewVote an even better experience, by changing our design to give you more of what you like, and less of what you don’t.
Communicating with you, about changes to our services and changes to terms of use and policies, including this policy.
Research conducted in accordance with Australian law and all applicable ethical research standards.
Publishing the results of our votes to better inform public debate and discourse.
In exercising these rights, NewVote will never share or disclose data or information that is identifiable at the level of the individual.
NewVote will ensure the very best security measures are in place to keep safe your data, including personal contact details.
We will not take responsibility for the privacy and confidentiality of data and information generated by you using NewVote which is then shared by you with other individuals or organisations, either within the app or via other communication services.
Our website and app may contain links to websites operated by third parties. Those links are provided for convenience and may not remain current or be maintained. Unless expressly stated otherwise, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of, or any content on, those linked websites, and have no control over or rights in those linked websites. The privacy policies that apply to those other websites may differ substantially from our Privacy Policy, so we encourage individuals to read them before using those websites.
NewVote will eventually make it easy for you to delete your account and immediately remove all your data from the NewVote database, or for you at any time to download all your data into an accessible format. In the meantime, either of these options can be enacted by direct email request.
NewVote will endeavour to notify you of any changes to this policy, and provide an opportunity for comment and feedback on changes before your continued use of the service.
